Sweden didn’t join the ‘Covid Lockdown’ madness and consequently didn’t suffer the disastrous economic consequences. Ireland doesn’t need to suffer the crippling economic shock of rocketing fuel prices and the consequent disaster the rest of the world are bringing on themselves with one simple action. All the government has to do is to stop using the rocketing cost of fuel as an excuse to rob us to crippling point at the pumps.
In one effortless move on their part the government can reduce their €1.45 per litre take at the pumps on €2.00 litres of petrol by at least €1 instead of their miserly and insulting token offer of €0.20. They will still be getting as much per litre as they were just over a year ago and people and business can survive this crisis and the country can go on recovering from the last government created ‘Covid’ disaster.
If they the government have the interests of the Irish people in mind they will do as we propose they do. If not they are a liability to the people and must be got rid of one way or another before they totally impoverish the people and destroy the country.
European and Irish industry and commerce are showing the first signs of shock horror and seizure, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine drives energy up to unsustainable levels for transportation, manufacturing, electricity production as well as farming and fishing to feed us, to mention just a few. At €2.00 a litre for petrol at the pumps you are putting €1.45 into the government’s pocket. Every time the price goes up their take goes up by much more. They are now Scrooge like offering to reduce the shock of the rocketing price of fuel to us by giving us a miserly and a derisory €0.20 back on a litre of petrol. The rocketing fuel prices have given them, the government a windfall take of many times that. Are they kidding us or are they trying to insult us? They really rub it in with the Green, lean and miserably mean Eamon Ryan lecturing us from his ivory tower in Cuckoo Land that if we slow down everything will be fine as we crawl along while he waters his lettuce in his windowsill.
Tell the fishermen who can’t afford to fuel up their trawlers to bring us fish for our tables to slow down Eamon.
Tell the farmer to slow down while he is being asked to produce more grain and food while he can’t either get sufficient diesel for his tractor to till the land to grow the grain and food or afford to buy it to harvest these crops. Government’s hot air suggestions and €0.20 patchwork won’t provide the diesel to fuel the farmer’s tractors.
The privately run school busses will now be asked to do the school runs at a loss as they are expected to continue running their school busses for the previously contracted prices that will now cost them their livelihoods and drive them out of business. Let us see how long they can continue doing the school runs at a loss before they quit. They are being asked to subsidise the government’s incompetent greed.
A school ran out of heating oil last week and it expected a delivery at a price much lower than the supplier could buy it for. Just on delivery would have cost the supplier the loss of nearly €1000.00 to make the delivery. The supplier had no choice but to tell he had no heating oil (at their prices) for them.
The cost of everything from basic groceries to the clothes on your back will skyrocket because of fuel delivery costs. Tour home heating oil will double in price to keep your home heated. The oil and gas costs are already hitting the entire economy with a potential knockout blow.
Meanwhile mad Mickey Martin’s gung ho anti Russian firebrand rhetoric with his demands for more EU sanctions while making direct threats to Russia all sound like he is planning to take on and defeat Russia and rescue Ukraine all on his own. He must have been reading too many comics when he was growing up as well as reading the archives of the Skibbereen Eagle’s warning to Czarist Russia. Mickey Martin will lead a hot air charge into the Ukrainian breach that will lead to more counterproductive sanctions imposed by the EU and western governments against Russia.
I can visualise Mickey Martin leading a charge now with his sandwiches in his pocket and his trousers tucked into his socks. He is brandishing an AK 47 Shillelagh as he charges forward while shouting encouragement to the government charging along behind. They are followed by the enthusiastic opposition with Marylou huffing and puffing along behind trying to keep up. Mickey is howling encouragement in the top of his voice yelling:
“Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.”
The outcome of Mickey martin’s and the EU’s idiotic response to Putin’s war is already resulting in one of the biggest oil oil-supply shocks and the worst resulting disaster since WWII. The Irish and Western worlds’ economies were already facing hyper inflation as a result of the Worlds government’s economic madness resulting from their idiotic ‘Covid restrictions’ even before Vladimir Putin unleashed his military machine in frustration at NATO’s expansion.
One European casualty of this sanctions and fuel price madness is BASF in Germany. You may ask, SO what? What has this got to do with me? Well let’s see. BASF will have to shut down their enormous vitamin plant in Ludwigshafen. The plant’s enormous energy needs have been fed by a pipeline of natural gas coming directly from Russia’s State energy company, Gazrom. This particular BASF plant is a leading global provider of vitamins A, E, B2 and B5 for human and animal consumption.
More and more industries will be forced to shut down due to prohibitive energy costs, and as a result, more and more people will find themselves out of work. More and more goods and services that we have come to take for granted will simply disappear. As Jobs dry up, income dries up and spending dries up and sales will dry up. That will force more business closures… putting more and more people out of work.
That cycle will continue repeating itself until everything collapses because inept Western governments will do little or nothing to alleviate the problem caused by them in the first place. Their ineptitude during their most recently manufactured ‘Covid Crisis’ highlighted their utter contempt for people and their utter ineptitude and incompetence to even manage a crisis of their own making.
No business can afford to stay open with fuel to run their business and that will cause massive job losses, and without jobs no one can afford to buy anything. Once this vicious cycle is allowed to gain momentum, it will spread faster than any virus to every sector of life and every aspect of the economy, and from country to country. Delivery ships need diesel to run. Trucks need diesel to run. Ships and trucks deliver everything and everything will cost more to deliver. That means everything will cost you more… a lot more.
We have actually entered a cycle of economic destruction right now. None of this needed to happen. The West refused to give Russia the security guarantees it needed after decades of NATO;s relentless encroachment on the Russian birder. Russia made it crystal clear last December and again even more forcefully in January, that if their perfectly reasonable security requirements would not be met through diplomatic means Russia would have to resort to military and technical means. They loudly and repeatedly told this to the world. A stupid and ignorant globalist puppet led Ukraine and an arrogant NATO and the complacent West weren’t listening. They thought Putin was bluffing. Well he wasn’t. Then shock horror. Russia did what Russia warned they would do if nobody heeded their legitimate concerns. Imagine that!
Now the world is up shit creek without any diesel, and its governments are collectively throwing hissy-fits led by their screaming media all wailing like spoiled kindergarten brat children with Mickey Martin Screaming the loudest. Now that’s going to help a lot, isn’t it? The West’s solution to the problem they created is the use of more “economic sanctions” to “bring Russia to its knees” as a high ranking British Official said “to suffocate” the Russian economy.
Well it is suffocating and bringing someone to their knees all right but that someone is not Russia. With no shortage of oil and gas and due to the experience of previous sanctions Russia has become self sufficient in most things. The West is about to suffer a vicious boomerang effect as a result of its sanctions on Russia. Hold on a moment. Isn’t there something radically wrong with the West’s thinking and actions? IDIOTS!!!
Come on Mickey Martin, lead the way.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Someone had blundered.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.”
Go on Mickey! I opened with this statement and it’s worth repeating. Now really pay attention this time.

There is a solution to every problem and the simplest solution is generally the best one but it does not start with a miserly token €0.20. Take heed. There will be a day of reckoning.
It’s our refusal to accept Russian oil is causing the increase. Russians happy to sell the oil. Ukraine and west have violated Minsk peace agreement, not all black and white.
