The Embassy of Russia in Ireland presents the following remarks by the press-secretary of the Embassy of Russia in Ireland Nikita Isakin: Nov 16 at 12:02
The Irish media coverage of the incident on November 15 at the Ukrainian-Polish border is both professionally inadequate and alarming. All Irish newspapers and news aggregators such as Newstalk have put forward false claims that Russian missiles hit the village of Przewodów and killed two people.
Irish Media Ignores Doubts and Facts
Even the White House and NATO, who obviously cannot be suspected of being Russophile, expressed their doubts about such theory. Moreover, yesterday night the Embassy has already provided Irish media with the statement by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, accusing the Polish mass media and officials of deliberate provocation to escalate situation with their claims about “Russian missiles”. Ministry also informed that Russia has launched no strikes at the area along Ukrainian–Polish border and that the wreckage published by Polish mass media from the scene in Przewodów has no relation to the Russian Army.
Ukrainian Missile
Later on Ministry specified that the wreckage detected in Przewodów has been identified by military experts as elements of S-300 air defence guided missile of the Ukrainian air force. Ministry emphasized that the high-precision strikes were launched only at the targets located in Ukraine and no closer than 35 kilometres from the Ukrainian–Polish border. The fact that destruction and deaths in Przewodów were caused by Ukrainian missiles has been also voiced by several US officials.
Irish Lying Media Disgraced
The bottom line of this story is that blind Russophobia of the Irish media does not only undercut its credibility – it is irresponsible and dangerous stance that can lead to tension and eventually threaten the international security.
